It is with great joy and much hope for what is to come here at PUMC as well as in our community I, Pastor Abby, announce to you Reach Beyond: A Worship Annex Refresh! This project has been months in the making. Since I was appointed to be one of your pastors, I have listened and observed, prayed and researched alongside a small group of project leaders to the hopes you have for worship, mission, outreach and discipleship. It is clear to me: PUMC is ready to reach beyond its walls, to discern who is not yet at God's table, to build relationships with neighbors we do not yet know, to invite in and go find those who may never sit next to us unless we reach out to them first. Friends, people are hungry for the Good News that God loves them and has life and love to give them! Let us not give up on that mission! To that end, we are excited to launch Reach Beyond. This project has several phases - the first glimpses of which you have already seen as our walls have been beautifully painted and our word wall has been installed, along with other decorative upgrades. But we're just getting started. 

Because of broken seals around our windows, we need to replace all the windows in the Annex. Our carpet is at least 25 years old so this project will see that carpeting replaced for an overall updated look in the space. The electrical panel will be rewired from the old model that used to light the partitioned rooms of the Annex. We also have some broken, uncomfortable furniture so Reach Beyond will upgrade side tables, easy chairs and add seating to create an updated, comfortable space wherein we can welcome all those who utilize this space. We will also add some additional decor including an interactive permanent prayer wall, tracks on the side walls for art installations, lighting on the stage and more as our budget allows. 

How much will this cost, you might ask? Our total project cost - with a stretch goal and contingency - is $65,000. However, thanks to the generosity of Transforming For Tomorrow givers, Reach Beyond has received a lead gift of the leftover T4T gifts of $30,000 meaning we are already nearly halfway to our goal! Glory to God!        

This project needs your gifts to succeed - please prayerfully consider how you can designate a monetary gift to see Reach Beyond become a reality.  You will receive updates from Pastor Abby and the team as we go along. If every person in our church could give $100, we'd be at our goal! But  truly, any amount you can give helps. We want to see Reach Beyond, which is the successor of T4T, realized so PUMC is better able to welcome the many groups who occupy the Annex, both within the church and beyond, as we consider what mission, outreach and ministry God has in store for us next.
