Visiting for the first time?

We know it can be hard to visit a church for the first time, so we have details that will help make your first visit easier!

Fun For Kids

If you have kids, we have an incredible Kids’ Ministry who will take care of your children while you enjoy worship. Our [email protected] staff and volunteers are the best and most experienced you’ll find. You can rest assured your children will be loved and taken care of in a safe, secure, and exciting environment designed just for them.

We think church should be fun for kids, so we’ve created kids experiences that are a blast for children of all ages! Your kids will participate in fun activities and crafts, energetic worship, and storytelling with other children their age.

No church? No problem!

We're a church with people from many different walks of life and where everyone is welcome and affirmed. Never been to a church? No problem! Whether you're checking out church for the first time or attended church your entire life, there's a place for you here.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?

Come as you are! Whether you'd rather dress in a three-piece suit or jeans and a t-shirt, there is no dress code for our worship - we just want to see you here!

How long is worship?

Worship last approximately 45 - 60 minutes every Sunday. We start with music, then go into an engaging message from Senior Pastor Charlie or Pastor Elizabeth. During the service, feel free to participate however you'd like. If you want to sit down and listen, feel free to do so. If you want to stand or raise your hands to sing, you can do that, too.

Do I need a ticket for Easter morning worship?

No. We believe in open worship where everyone is invited to attend. Worship will be busy, we do recommend you get here early to find a good seat.

What do you have for children?

At PUMC, kids in grade K-5 have their own fun, engaging, and interactive service. Our [email protected] staff are all trained and have gone through background checks. Safety is our number one priority! Children start off in NewDay Praise with their parents, then they head off to their own worship experience.
Infant and toddler care is available in [email protected] hall, located in the South end of PUMC.

What do you have for youth?

Youth, grades 6-12 attend a vibrant, high energy worship experience, upstairs in the South hall. Youth worship is lead by Pastor Bob and focuses on lessons from the bible that are relevant to teens and they can use everyday.

Where can I park?

Parking is available on the North, East, and South sides of the church. Additional parking is available at the Guilford Township Public Library located at 1120 Stafford Rd, Plainfield, IN 46168 (1/4 block South of Plainfield UMC). We will be running regular shuttles from the library to Plainfield UMC for 8:45, 9:00, and 10:00 a.m. worship on Easter morning.

Will you ask for my money?

No. At PUMC, we want to live generous lives, and invite people who support our mission to give as they feel led. We have no expectation for guests to give.

Can I attend if I'm __________ ?

Yes. Fill in the blank with whatever you're worried about: single, divorced, gay, straight, white, black, addicted, hurting, poor, super-successful, a nonbeliever, atheist, New England Patriots fan, etc. At PUMC, we'll welcome you as you are, so come visit us this Sunday!
