Hymn of Praise UMH 66

Praise, My Soul, the King of Heaven

Call to Worship

Leader: How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of heaven’s armies.

People: I long, yes, I faint with longing to enter the courts of the Lord.

Leader: With my whole being, body and soul, I will shout joyfully to the living God.

People: What joy for those who can live in your house, always singing your praises.

Leader: A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else!

People: For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory.

Leader: The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.

People: O Lord of heaven’s armies, what joy for those who trust in you.

Leader: How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of heaven’s armies.

All: Praise the Lord! Amen!

Time for prayer

Morning Prayer

The Lord’s Prayer 895

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
