Ash Wednesday Worship

Join us on Wednesday, February 17, at 7:00 p.m. for an online Ash Wednesday service via Zoom! Pastor Charlie will lead us in prayerful reflection and direct us with the imposition of ashes, and we will enjoy music from Steven Linville, Nick Fennig, and the NewDay Praise Band.

We have prepared a worship packet to help you with this worship experience and the season of Lent. The packet includes:
  • Ashes for the Ash Wednesday service,
  • A daily Lenten devotional book,
  • A kid’s craft for Lent.

Visit pumc.org/lent or call the church office to request this Lenten Care Package (available while supplies last, one per household). You can pick your LCP up at Door 1 during the Food Donation times:
  • Sunday, February 7 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.,
  • Monday, February 8 from 3 - 5 p.m.,
  • Sunday, February 14 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.,
  • Monday, February 15 from 3 - 5 p.m.
You may also request to have the package mailed to your home.

We look forward to you joining us in this reflective service as we begin the season of Lent!

Biblical Reflection for Lent and Ash Wednesday: Luke 11:1-4
1 Jesus was praying in a certain place, and after he had finished,
one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray,
as John taught his disciples.”
2 He said to them, “When you pray, say:
Father, hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
3 Give us each day our daily bread.
4 And forgive us our sins,
for we ourselves forgive everyone indebted to us.
And do not bring us to the time of trial.”
