In-Person Worship Suspended and Group Meeting Guidelines

Following Bishop Trimble’s recommendation, Plainfield United Methodist Church is suspending in-person worship effective Sunday, November 22. Virtual worship will be available on pumc.org/live, Plainfield UMC & NewDay Praise’s Facebook pages, and YouTube channels.

Activities and small groups will continue with the following guidelines.
  • If you or anyone you have been in contact within the last 72 hours has any of the following COVID-19 symptoms, you must stay home.
    1. A fever of 100.4º F or greater,
    2. Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing,
    3. Chills
    4. Muscle pain,
    5. Headache,
    6. Sore throat,
    7. New loss of taste or smell
  • Groups must reserve meeting space in advance through the church office. Groups not scheduled through the office risk losing the privilege of meeting
  • Group size is limited to 25 persons.
  • Practice the “Three W’s.”
    1. Wash your hands.
    2. Watch your distance (staying 6 feet from others).
    3. Wear a mask at all times while in the building.

Whenever possible, we ask that you convene your group virtually. For assistance in arranging virtual meetings, contact the office (317-839-2319).

These measures are in place until further notice and subject to change. We continue to keep everyone affected by the pandemic in our prayers.

We understand that this may be a hardship for some, and we know you are eager to return to regular church activity. We will all get through this, with God as our Helper, doing no harm, and anticipating a healthier future for PUMC.

Go in peace. Go with God. And be well.

Shalom,
Pastor Charlie
