Updated COVID-19 Response (May 26, 2020)

Grace and peace to you!

As we continue in these days of the COVID-19 pandemic, I continue to be grateful for the faithfulness and generosity of this congregation. Thank you for your ongoing participation in worship, ministry and mission, and for the many ways you are caring for each other and those around you. Your witness to the love of Jesus in real and practical ways is touching lives in our communities. Glory to God!

I continue to engage PUMC key leaders and the staff on the subject of how and when PUMC can safely return to in-person worship and activity. Our decision on when and how to re-engage in-person is influenced by input from state and national government entities, denominational leaders, what we perceive to be our own capacity and ability, as well as prayer and conversation with other church leaders in the region.

To safeguard congregation members, worshipers, the general community and staff, PUMC will continue to offer online worship only through at least late-summer.

While we will not be together in person for ministry and mission in the coming weeks, our life together in ministry and mission continues to inspire, aid, and encourage:
  • Livestream worship will continue on Sunday mornings; Classic Worship at 8:45 and NewDay Praise Worship at 10:00.
  • The staff will continue to provide helpful and inspiring content nearly every day on PUMC’s social media platforms.
  • Mission and outreach will continue in ways that provide care for the most vulnerable in the community.
  • Childcare is available, operating within the Governor’s guidelines. Please contact the church with needs or questions.
  • Pastors will continue to be available for pastoral care via phone calls, texts, and social media.
  • You may continue to make your financial gifts online at https://pumc.org/give, in the SecureGive app, via your bank’s online bill paying method, or by USPS. Please call the church office if you have any questions about giving. (317.839.2319)
Thank you, and glory to God!

Additionally, in the coming weeks we will focus significant effort on helping persons connect more personally through digital small group experiences. Stay tuned to PUMC’s regular digital communication channels to learn more about opportunities you will have for small group study and discipleship in the coming weeks.

If you need to reach a pastor or church staff person or conduct any other business with the church, please phone 317.839.2319. Phones are still being answered and your call will be received. You can also communicate with pastors and staff using any of PUMC’s social media platforms.

Thank you for your understanding and concern for all involved as, together, we seek to be the church active and in mission, as well as establish and live within prudent and safe guidelines.

Please stay tuned to all of PUMC’s social media platforms and website (pumc.org) for updates, helpful content, encouragement and ways to be helpful.
