Ash Wednesday Worship

March 6, 7:00 p.m.

Begin the church season of Lent (the weeks just prior to Easter) with worship in the sanctuary on Wednesday, March 6, 7:00 p.m. This worship experience will help prepare us for the prayerful, reflective season ahead. In addition to hearing a moving message, worshipers will have opportunity to receive ashes on their forehead in the sign of a cross.
“The use of ashes as a sign of mortality and repentance has a long history in Jewish and Christian worship. Historically, ashes signified purification and sorrow for sins.” (
On the Sundays following, in both Classic and NewDay Praise Worship at both 8:45 and 10:00 a.m., we will remember Jesus’ life and death from the perspective of the crowds that followed him and always gathered around him, in the Lent series, Crowded.
