God has given each Christian two vitally important gifts. The first is the gift of faith in Jesus Christ and the second is the gift of one or more special abilities, sometimes called spiritual gifts, to be used for the purpose of unifying the Body of Christ and for the growth of God's Kingdom. This Spiritual Gifts Assessment tool is a quick survey you can take to identify your spiritual gifts. Read Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12, and Ephesians 4 in the Bible to learn more about spiritual gifts in the life of the believer and the church.
The Social Principles are a prayerful and thoughtful effort on the part of the UMC General Conference to speak to human issues in the contemporary world from a sound biblical and theological foundation as historically demonstrated in United Methodist traditions. They are a call to faithfulness and are intended to be instructive and persuasive in the best of the prophetic spirit; however, they are not church law. The Social Principles are a call to all members of The United Methodist Church to a prayerful, studied dialogue of faith and practice.
